Farmers use different types of far, equipment to make their efficient and increase their productivity. However there is few equipment that are majorly used worldwide by farmers. If you are new to farm business, and want to buy farm equipment for your new farm, here is a list you can chose from.

Cultivators

Cultivators are used majorly for soil cultivation in India and worldwide. Cultivators are specifically used for weed control before planting seed into the soil as well as incorporating previous crop or weed residues to prepare a seed bed. The tynes of the Cultivator should be spaced properly when using to prepare seedbed or field after plants growth to remove the weeds around the plants. A farmer needs to be very careful and drive the tractor cultivator in a straight line without disturbing the vegetable plants with the cultivator.

Plough

There are different types of plough used in agriculture and to selecting the right type of plough for your farm is based on the soil type, type of crop and the condition of the land.

  • Mould board ploughs: This type of plough is often used on the fields that has not been in crop production before or has been uncultivated for a long time. The MB Plough breaks the clods of the soil and gives it a smooth structure making it ideal for planting seeds.
  • Disk Plow – A disc plough consists of steel discs that breaks, cuts and mix the soil completely. But it doesn’t work the way a mould-board plough would.

Harrow

Harrows are used as a tractor implement to level the soil surface, redistribute crop residue and interrupt weed growth. A harrow is another implement that saves time and expenses by making fewer passes through the field. Disc harrows are majorly used to prepare a proper seedbed before planting seeds. Harrows are very useful to break up manure in the field and smooth out surfaces.

Seed Drills

Seed drills are also used as an attachment t the tractor to place seeds directly into the ground with minimal soil disturbance. These are mostly used for row crops like grains, cover crops, and forage or grasses. No-till seed drills like a disc seed drill are the traditional seed drills used in farming. Disc seed drills cuts through the existing crop residue, creating a clear path for planting seeds.

Balers

There is general two types of hay balers round balers and square balers. A Round baler picks up hay from the ground and rolls it into round bales, wrapping it with net. Square balers comes in different sizes and the type of you need depends on how much acreage you bale. Balers tie bales in twine, wire or both.

These can be costly investments, and require maintenance time to time, so it is important to make sure your requirement to use your baler.
